On Prakrit Studies

Prakrit Studies is important for three reasons –

• To understand the commentary on Sanskrit mantric recitations, the Vedas onwards.
• To trace the advaitic and ahimsic roots of Indic thought.
• For Jaina studies and also for indology to rethink its bases.
